How it works for your casino
You see in your own system that a player has a prize or stake of € 2,000 or more. Your staff member opens a case file, enters the player as a person with nationality and date of birth, and records the amount and date in custom fields. You onboard business relationships the same way.
In a procedure you set the steps in the order you want, and the player does their part in the client portal. They verify with an identity document and a selfie, upload a bank statement, for example, and declare where their money comes from. Their answers are saved along the way, and whatever they upload goes straight into document management. Before a document expires, you hear well in advance.
You draw up a player declaration or a business agreement in the contract builder. The player signs in the portal, and you get proof of signing. Templates for forms and contracts are ready to use.
You screen the player for PEP status, sanctions, adverse media and nationality. You mark each hit relevant, false positive or action required, and that verdict is recorded. The risk level sits in the case file with a written rationale. Professional and Enterprise also include a REST API.
A reviewer decides on the case file, alongside the handler who opened it. A regular player is then re-screened by itself, every 30 days at high risk, every quarter at medium risk and once a year at low risk.
What the Wwft asks of a gambling operator
A gambling operator is subject to the Wwft, the Dutch Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorist Financing Act, when it offers games of chance on a professional basis (Article 1a(4)(l)). Client due diligence, also called KYC or CDD, is required among other things when a player collects a prize or places a bet of € 2,000 or more (Article 3(6)).
The Kansspelautoriteit has been the Wwft supervisor since 1 January 2016 (Article 1d(1)(f)). Its guidance of December 2023 covers only casinos and online operators (Koa), because all other operators are exempt.
RiskResolve focuses on the due diligence. Age checks, CRUKS, monitoring of gambling behaviour and transaction monitoring stay in your own platform. Your team reports unusual transactions to FIU-the Netherlands itself.
