Client onboarding for car and luxury dealers

Your buyer goes through one journey, from identity and power of attorney to the purchase agreement. They sign once their identity is verified.

How it works for your brokerage

You enter the parties you act for in their own case file. A Dutch company is completed from the trade register. You look up a foreign company and complete it yourself, and in the structure you link the representative and the UBOs.

In a procedure you choose the buyer’s steps and their order. The buyer completes them in the client portal, in your house style, and logs in with a code by email. The power of attorney and extracts they upload go straight into document management.

You draw up the purchase or brokerage agreement in the contract builder, with a conditional block, for example for a foreign buyer. The buyer signs in the portal and then downloads the PDF. Templates for forms and contracts are ready to use.

You screen buyer, representative and UBO for PEP status, sanctions and adverse media, and a company also on its country and sector. Country risk follows the EU and FATF lists. Without a hit the risk is medium, and a reassessment follows after two years.

The handler submits the case file and a reviewer approves or rejects it. RiskResolve records every change, view and review with time and user.

When the Wwft applies to cars and luxury goods

If you broker the purchase or sale of vehicles, boats, precious stones or jewellery, you fall under the Wwft, the Dutch Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorist Financing Act (Article 1a(4)(j)). The DFEI supervises on behalf of the Minister of Finance. The regime changes again from 10 July 2027 under the EU Anti-Money Laundering Regulation (AMLR).

If you sell cars, boats or jewellery yourself, since 1 January 2026 only the cash ban applies (Article 1f). Your buyer can then only pay cash below € 3,000. According to the guidance on that ban, the ordinary Wwft duties of traders in goods (part (i)), such as client due diligence, have lapsed. Checking the buyer is then your own choice.

RiskResolve records the checks on the buyer. How the customer pays shows up in your own till or dealer software. Complying with the cash ban and reporting to FIU-the Netherlands remain the seller’s job.
